Since there has been no updates for Mr. Bjørn Grønli's spreadsheet, I chose to continue his work.

I did try out a number of SP104 and SP105 T-mobile (German Telecom) firmwares and found that they are really poor. 3 Italy was a pretty poor firmware, as I had problems logging in! Polkomtel's SP103 was a solid performer, but after a round trip, I went back to Telia's SP102.
Please drop me a comment if something is wrong or new columns should be added, or if I'm missing a firmware in the list. My idea is to try to keep this up to date with firmware information and I will appreciate any help from you.

bot are Marked as "security Updates"
I can't test those anymore since I don't have a B593 anymore since my telcom managed to deliver an DSL line here finally and I now have a Fritz.Box =)
Jari Turkia on :
I personally lost interest with German Telecom firmwares, as they lack a lot of functionality.

Firmware downgrades from SP100+ firmware back to pre-SP100 are dangerous. Password encryption scheme has changed. A factory reset may be needed.

first of all -> Thanks for your work with the B593 and your website.
Second:
Maybe you can give the following firmware ar try and share your opinion

Last but not least, i couldnt find a word about the following tool at your page.
Maybe i missed it, if so -> sorry, if not please check it out.
Huawei b593 Upgrade Tool

My router was bricked because i did some very stupid things (yeah i know, first read ->then understand -> then flash )
I could revive it with this tool
You can find different versions with google

I checked only this one above with virustotal.com .

As we have the ssh access to our routers is there a possibility to install OpenWRT for example?
Jari Turkia on :
You can replace the Linux, you can get it to boot and function as an operating system. However, for example bot the WLAN and 3G/4G drivers are proprietary and your box wouldn't be of much use.

I opened the se_telia_r-m-h-s.tar.bz2 and replace it's modem.bin with one from Polkomtel_r+m+h+s.tar.bz2 .
This is the software version from AT. Can someone check if it is the same as in Telia SP102?
At commadn test program, Enter quit will exit loop!

Why did you go back to the Telia SP102 from the Polkomtel SP103?
Jari Turkia on :
If memory serves me correctly, I had no special reason, I just was running that for a long time and didn't see any benefit or running something else. Feature-wise they are almost same.
robm on :
BTW with the Polkomtel SP103 you can do the ../.. ftp hack as you note, but then you can't get /var/sshusers.cfg as you probably know. But you can 'more' the file through ftp which is just as good .
For others reading, ignore the ':0' at the end of the admin password. Connecting through ssh gets to the ATP> prompt, from there type 'shell' to get busybox running.

I have a B593s-12 (Speedport LTE II) and I managed to load B593s-22 firmware to it. So far it seems to be working just fine.
The firmware is V200R001B270D10SP03C182 and I got it from here: https://www.dna.fi/tuki-dna-kotimokkula-4g-wlan-b593s
I needed to use hex editor to change the C182 to the one on the old Telekom firmware, but after that I could run the upgrade from the modem's web interface.

I installed some new firmware now, but now it does not connect to the 4G/LTE network at all. The signal strength is fine, it just refuses to connect. I have tried several firmwares now. I can connect to the 3G network without issues though. The sim is 4G enabled and the apn should be fine.

Late to the party and a newcomer both to 4G and the Huewai B593u-12 (finally had it with 2mb ADSL !)
I picked up a cheap unlocked device with V100R001C748SP108 but with a view to completely ditching my landline and ADSL I'd like to try out VoIP which means flashing different firmware, probably Vodafone according to the spreadsheet.
Oddly this particular B593 does not expose any phone sockets on the rear however inside the board appears identical to that depicted below so I'm guessing the current lack of a VoIP section in the menu is no more than a flashing of the correct firmware away.
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wmuMFwz1RV4/U-8DXxNZ2AI/AAAAAAAAACY/zA_w2CVhwPg/s1600/IMG_0415.JPG
My question then is very simple yet one I've not seen a plain YES or NO answer to and it's this:
Can I flash any variant of B593u-12 firmware to it at will ?
Jari Turkia on :
If you read any of my blog post or other people's comments, you should have gotten the hint of that. The initial spreadsheet wasn't my work, but I completed it by installing and testing multiple firmwares.
AltruisticGenie on :
Is there any firmware to B593u-12 that supports IPv6?
I have tried to find out and at least some adds on amazon/ebay etc says that B593u-12 has IPv6. However I have tried couple of firmwares, up to polkomtel SP103, and no luck.
Also if you have firmware yourself, please upload it to somewhere where it could be downloaded. Im feeling that lots of people are trying to find IPv6 firmwares now that ISPs finally are offering it.
Thanks =)

is it possible to connect an android phone to it and use the phone as 3G/4G modem via USB-tethering?
That could be an solution if don't have enough credit on the SIM in the router but on someones phone but want to have the router make the WiFi as it is stronger.
Jari Turkia on :
In practice, no. Obviously, none of the Huawei firmware have support for external USB-modems.
I haven't seen any attempts from OpenWrt (and derivates) to support Huwei LTE-devices. They have some support for Huawei ADSL-routers. If such feat would be accomplished, you would have an own Linux capable of doing whatever you need it to do.
Mr.A on :
i found a site with some different Firmwares.

I looked in quite a few places, but as the unit is rather outdated, those latest firmwares aren't available for download. Most users have done the obvious and moved forward to newer hardware.

Jari Turkia on :
Whatever either of us say here, the fact remains: it is an old piece of hardware and any recent firmwares are not generally available. Tools and firmware used to be, when the device was still in production. That was years ago.
