I got a comment from John, he told me that a telco in Germany called Telekom has SP104 firmware out for B593 u-12. They seem to call it Speedport LTE II. The download link to the firmware is http://hilfe.telekom.de/dlp/eki/downloads/Speedport/Speedport%20LTE%20II/Firmware_Speedport_LTE_II_V100R001C748SP104.zip
The UI has English language, so it should be usable for us non-German speaking users too.
As usual, I did download and extract the firmware and all looks ok to me. Also as usual, I didn't test it. If you do, please comment how it went.
Update 21th May 2014:
Today John told me that, Telekom released a security update SP105 firmware. There is little information what the fix is, but you can get the lates from this link http://www.telekom.de/dlp/eki/downloads/Speedport/Speedport%20LTE%20II/Firmware_Speeport_LTE_II_B593u-12_V100R001C748SP105.zip
- Voip
- Dyndns (DDNS)
- SMS
Features that are ON and OFF like xmas trees from firmware to firmware. Telcos are the motherloads of confusion.
Lets add this to the FirmwareComparisionHuawei Online Excel
https://onedrive.live.com/view.aspx?resid=B483589C2FD81F7D!207
Nice find, thanks !
I wish Huawei would make a smart move and open the firmware. There are proprietary parts (especially the 3G/4G drivers) and I'd be happy to have them as binaries. Rest of the box is GPL Linux anyway. Please, let me build my own excitement!
- Dyndns (DDNS) --> Yes
- SMS -> no as per fact only data Cards are issued by the Telco they are issued to people in Germany who are unable to get a DSL line either because it's not possible or the line is to slow they hand out this device and a (special) data Sim card to connect those customers via 3G/4g Network
The Menus are very alike of the V100R001C55SP102
It has DDNS
No VOIP
If anyone has some way of edit the APN value tell me here please.
As far as i tested it only works that German Telekom.
If the APN-value is fixed, for example I cannot use that firmware at all. None of the Finnish telcos use APN of "internet.mobile" in pre- or post-paid SIMs.
the APN for those devices are "internet.home" the APN internet.mobile
is for cell phones and don't work with the simcard's issued with those devices
Just add a secondary APN and then Switch the APN here is a picture for demonstration -_> http://i.imgur.com/b2C469O.jpg
but the problem is that i use AUTO APN, i dont want to know what APN to use, the router AUTO connects without the need of APN if the blocked APN setting is the *99# only for example.
We can use this firmware, but its not suitable for my needs. I use the Automatic APN because i have several telcos cards to be used on the device, i just replace the sim cards and turn power on, it auto connects to LTE or 3G that i pick.
The V100R001C55SP102, as an automatic webgui update and the result:
V100R001C55SP103
If anyone can get this latest firmware in file would be nice.
There is no visible changelog and its a small 102»103 update
FIRMWARE1: B593u-12 V100R001C55SP103
Size: 40.23 MB
Features:
This SW has the following updates:
- WEBGUI improvements
- Security improvements
- Fixing some bugs
It downloads and install/upgrades.
I wish we could catch this file that it downloads and install auto. We dont have access to it, its all AUTO.
http://hilfe.telekom.de/hsp/cms/content/HSP/de/3388/FAQ/theme-481523839/Speedport-LTE-II
Here it is, 105.
Installing now, i will report when tested.
Usually in most firmwares it comes blank as in AUTO and you just put the simcard inside and it connects.
I reverted to older firmwares 102/103 that are much alike as this one but with the AUTO APN working.
But its really recent this one, i wonder what are the big differences. Lets wait for others to roll-out 105 as well
Its the first that i see below ending in 2014:
Copyright © Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. 1998-2014. All rights reserved.
but it's really no big deal to add the APN's you use and when you plug-in the simcard just switch to the proper APN
Its a quick insert sim a turn it on and its working.
If it was just for my use i wouldnt need it.
A sweet changelog, for a change

password : admin not work !
what default passord for V100R001C748SP105
the password for SSH usually never changes unless changed by the telco
I discussed the magically changing SSH admin password in http://blog.hqcodeshop.fi/archives/204-Telia-Sweden-SP102-firmware-for-u-12.html
My previous password was literally "admin", but now that I'm running the SP102, it is something randomish. But I still can dig it out, because FTP leaks so badly.
update to the SP105 Firm might be wise since the TR-069 port is closed there too...
read the article here:
http://www.teltarif.de/huawei-router-vodafone-telekom-sicherheitsluecke/news/55815.html
The problem with SP105 is that I don't know its vulnerability status. It may be too tightly locked for me.
Telnet is closed and so is FTP but you can alter the iptables from ssh with ease..
webintface is fixed Ping & traceroute has been secured
thats it...
ok i have it now
it same orginal my B2000 vodafone
According to German media the Huawei B593u-12 and s-22 are facing a major security flaw.
The firmware versions V100R001C55SP102 and V200R001B180D10SP00C801 do have 5 major securiuty issues which can be used to gain control from outside the local network.
Possible scenarios are Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) and Replay-Attacks. This means attackers can turn of the internet connection, redirect you to phishing sites and they´re also able to execute random code.
The stated firmwares SHALL NOT BE USED. If you´re using any of these, update immediately to a newer version.
Maybe there should be an own article that.

You seem to be a man of few words, but the link you posted seems to be a valid T-Mobile SP104 for u-12.
