Earlier I wrote about how I found out the hard way, that modern Linuxes don't work much with Hyper-V. Also I wrote about Microsoft taking initiative with fixing this.
I said in my earlier post that Linux 3.9 had fixes for storvsc-driver and finally I had time to confirm that. It works perfectly! In my Arch Linux -installation all I had to do is run pacman -Syu and I got Linux 3.9.3 kernel, which after a reboot works very well with my Windows 8 Hyper-V. No previously described block device hang -messages.
